United Plains Ag provides a wide variety of hedging options for today’s producer.  From standard forward contracts to an extensive variety of over-the-counter products; we can design any number of hedging options to fit your marketing plan and enhance your bottom line.

Our cash forward contracts include:

1. Basis contracts – which allow producers to lock in basis levels that they deem attractive and fix the futures at a later date.
2. Futures Fixed or Hedge-to-Arrive contracts – which allow the producer to lock in futures prices they deem attractive and fix the basis at a later date.
3. Priced Contracts – which allow the producer to lock in cash prices when they deem them attractive by locking in futures and basis levels simultaneously.
4. Minimum Price Contracts – which allows a producer to settle cash grain at a price that allows for the purchase of a call option.  This allows the producer to participate in post harvest price appreciation if they believe the market will move higher over a specific time.

In addition to our cash contracts, we house a branch office of Country Hedging Inc.  This means producers can open and maintain a local futures and options account with one of our licensed professionals.  This allows producers the flexibility of hedging strategies not tied to cash grain contracted to the elevator.  However they will have flexibility and ease in turning futures and/or option hedges into deliverable contracts.
